In December of 2018, The Maryland State Department of Education released the new Maryland Report Card website containing performance data for every school in the State, including schools in Wicomico County.

The elementary schools eligible to receive star ratings in Wicomico County all scored a four out of five possible stars in the State’s new accountability system while our middle and high schools received either a three or a four-star rating in this new system of accountability. Through this accountability system, elementary and middle schools are evaluated and ranked in the following categories: academic achievement, academic progress, progress in achieving English language proficiency, and measures of school quality and student success.

For high schools, the system includes academic achievement, graduation rate, progress in English language proficiency, readiness for postsecondary success, and measures of school quality and student success. Star ratings will continue to be released annually for each intermediate, middle, and high school in our system. Maryland’s new School Report Card system allows all stakeholders an opportunity to better understand how our schools are performing.

The information currently available on Maryland Report Card website reflects the 2019 performance data and ratings. Each school's performance data on the 2022 spring assessments were released in January 2023, with individual score reports released to families. The new Star Ratings published in March 2023.
