Dr. Brian Raygor

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Micah Stauffer named Dr. Brian Raygor the school system’s Chief Finance and Operations Officer, effective July 15, 2022. Dr. Raygor began his career in education in 1994, as a biology teacher at James M. Bennett High School.  While at JMB, Brian was recognized with the National Association of Biology Teachers' Outstanding Biology Teacher Award and Wicomico County's Teacher of the Year.  In 2007, Dr. Raygor became Supervisor of Science and held that position until becoming Director of Curriculum, Instructional Resources, and Professional Development in July, 2021.  

Under Dr. Raygor's leadership, the Division of Business and Operations provides support and direction to all facets of the Wicomico County Public School System in the areas of finance, technology services, food and nutrition services, planning and construction, facilities, maintenance, operations, and energy. This division works closely with school staff to ensure that necessary resources are in place to meet the needs of all students for academic, social, and emotional growth. In addition, Business and Operations works to maintain clean and efficient facilities that are safe and healthy environments where teaching and learning can effectively occur. Collaboration with administrators, staff, and the community is an essential part of informing the daily practices of this division.   

Dr. Raygor holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Secondary Education from Edinboro University (1993), a Master's in School Leadership from Salisbury State University (1999), and a Doctor of Education in Innovation and Leadership from Wilmington University (2016).  He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Wilmington University advising doctoral students in the dissertation process.  Outside of education, Dr. Raygor has experience in institutional food service, construction, and computers/networking.  Dr. Raygor resides in Hebron with his wife Rebecca (a WCPS School Social Worker) and two daughters, both successful alumni of WCPS.  While away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and cycling the back roads of Delmarva.
