Letter

Our very own Bailee Martini recently chose to write a letter to the Wicomico County Board of Education about a topic she feels passionately about, no school on Mondays. Bailee's teacher, Mrs. Eure, shared that she chose to write this on her own, it was not part of a writing assignment.

Mrs. Eure was impress by the creativity and initiative Bailee took to go to the Board of Education about something she truly believes in.

Board Member, Dr. Bonnie Ennis, replied to Bailee explaining how Maryland Law and the requirements of 180 school days as well as the following;

"Although we cannot officially adopt your “No Monday” plan, I want you to know how much I appreciate your creative thinking, persuasive writing and good humor. Your teachers and family must be proud of the effort and thought you put in to your letter.  Please keep sharing your ideas- who knows maybe your next one will be the start of a new school tradition (perhaps, “Pajama Fridays” or “Homework-Free Wednesdays”?)."
