The Great Pumpkin Reading Challenge transformed several pumpkins into book characters. Participants used artificial pumpkins so the characters will decorate the media center for the next couple weeks.

Spanish classes were cooking today as part of their instruction and learning about other cultures. They made authentic Spanish tortillas, containing sliced potatoes, onions, and then eggs. This dish would typically be served in a tapas-style (small plates) restaurant. It was delicious!

During Guidance lessons all grade levels discussed strategies for dealing with problems and how to have more constructive solutions without putting people down or bullying. PEMS wants to honor Veterans and their service to our country. Students received a flyer yesterday inviting Veterans in their families to visit and/or send in photos or names of Veterans living in our community, to be used in a school display.
