🌟 Breaking News: PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY 🌟
Guess who's taking the reins as our honorary Principal for the Day this Friday, April 19th? Drumroll, please... 🥁 It's none other than the incredible Andrew Bontempo Dionisio! 🎉🐯 Let's give a roaring round of applause for our lucky tiger cub who's about to lead the way! 👑 Congratulations!

Good evening, awesome West Salisbury Tiger Families! This is Mr. Binns, your Principal, bursting with excitement to share some "ROARING" updates from West Salisbury Elementary! Third Term Report Cards were sent home on Friday. Please remember to sign the envelope and return it to your child’s teacher! If you did not receive your child report card you should be receiving it Monday. Also, if needed be sure to schedule a conference with your chid's teacher for Wednesday, April 17th, during our Parent Conference Night from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Reach out to your child's teacher ASAP to confirm your preferred time slot. Remember, you must have a scheduled slot in order to meet with your child's teacher. Our PreK students are gearing up for a blast at the Delmarva Discovery Center. Mark your calendars: Mrs. Muir and Ms. Cunningham's class will go on Monday, followed by Mrs. Shrieves, Mrs. Lanzi, and Mrs. Baldwin's classes on Tuesday. Parents please be reminded that when your child is on a field trip, although you are the parent you are NOT permitted to take your child during the field trip the teacher is responsible for your child until the child is dismissed from school. Parents are not permitted to take them to different exhibits or even to leave early, the student must remain with their teacher until the end of the day. We want to give a big shout out to all of our students and families that participated in the Kids American Heart Challenge. Our tiger cubs played a pivotal role in raising funds to support children that have heart conditions. Director Kimberly Moore came to help us celebrate our school for setting multiple records and to be a part of our famous pie in the face for all students that participated in this wonderful event. Our school set a record and raised $5,740.31, with our top three classes that raised funds being Mrs. Krull’s class in first place, Mrs. Wharton’s class in second place and Mrs. Shultie’s class in third place. Finally, our overall winner was Trevon Davis who raised a whopping $1,161.59 This proves why the tiger nation is the best because we do for our community. Who will be our honorary Principal this Friday, April 19th? Any student who purchased a ticket will have a chance. Stay tuned for our winner! We will be drawing our lucky winner tomorrow during the morning announcements. Drumroll, please... This Fun Friday is all about celebrating friendship! Pair up with your bestie and dress as twins – it's Friendship Day at West Salisbury Elementary! Let's flood the halls with matching outfits and double the fun! As we rev up for another week filled with adventures and learning, don't forget to recharge tonight with a good night's sleep. We're all eagerly anticipating the laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments that await us at West Salisbury Elementary. Tigers, let me hear you ROAR!

April 2nd, 2024
Good Tuesday Evening, West Salisbury Tiger Families!
This is Mrs. Harrington, your Dean of Students, bringing you some "ROARING" updates from West Salisbury Elementary.
Return from Spring Break - Wednesday, April 3rd
We trust that everyone had a relaxing, healthy, and safe spring break. A quick reminder – our tiger cubs will be back to school tomorrow, Wednesday, April 3rd.
Early Dismissal Day - Friday, April 5th
Friday, April 5th will be an early dismissal day for our students. They will be dismissed at 12:15 PM, and must be picked up by 12:45 PM at the latest. Parents, please adjust your schedules accordingly to ensure you are at the bus stop to pick up your student. This marks the end of our 3rd term. Report cards will be distributed the following week.
Attendance Matters!
Regular attendance is crucial for your child's education.
Consider this: if your child misses 2 school days a month, they miss 20 days a year. That translates to a loss of 30 hours of math instruction and 60 hours of reading and writing instruction. Every absence and tardiness adds up, impacting your child's learning. We emphasize this because your child's education is invaluable. Our tiger cubs deserve the best, and that starts with consistent attendance. Your efforts to ensure they attend school on time are deeply appreciated. Together, let's provide them with the outstanding education they deserve. Thank you for your commitment to our students' success.
Picking Up Students:
A gentle reminder to all parents regarding student pickup procedures. Please refrain from arriving and waiting in the office area before 3:10 PM for regular dismissal pickups. Respecting this policy ensures that our staff can focus on their duties, facilitating a smoother and more organized dismissal process.
Cell Phone use in Front Office
We kindly request that cellphones remain stowed away while in this area to maintain a safe and focused environment for our students and staff.
As we gear up for another week filled with excitement and learning, remember to get a good night's sleep tonight. We're eagerly anticipating the learning, laughter, and unforgettable moments that await us at West Salisbury Elementary. Tigers, let me hear you roar – ROAR!!
