Students at Mardela Middle and High School recently had a unique opportunity to connect beyond the classroom through a live virtual session with Tyler Smith, a well-known YouTuber, gamer, and content creator.
During the interactive Zoom experience, students gained firsthand insight into the world of digital content creation, gaming, and building an online brand. Tyler shared his personal journey, discussing how passion, creativity, and consistency played key roles in turning his interests into a successful career.
Students were especially engaged during the Q&A portion, where they asked thoughtful questions about career pathways, overcoming challenges, and what it takes to stand out in a competitive digital space. Tyler’s honest and relatable responses helped students see the wide range of opportunities available in modern careers, many of which extend far beyond traditional paths.
This experience not only inspired students to think creatively about their futures but also reinforced the importance of pursuing interests with dedication and confidence. Events like this highlight Mardela’s commitment to connecting students with real-world professionals and expanding their understanding of today’s evolving career landscape.

We NEED you at our CAREER FAIR DISCOVER DAY
Looking for businesses and organizations to share information about careers in their fields of expertise.
EMAIL : AMY RHODES at amrhodes@mywcps.org to get more information and register for the career fair.
What is a Career Fair?
A career fair is an interactive event that connects students with professionals from a wide range of industries. Booths are set up throughout the event space, and students move from station to station, engaging with different organizations and learning about a variety of career paths. This format allows students to explore, ask questions, and experience multiple fields in one setting. Rather than a formal presentation, a career fair is designed to be conversational, hands-on, and engaging, giving students the chance to interact, participate in activities, and begin envisioning their future.

Students had a blast on our University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) field trip yesterday! They were able to participate in an engineering challenge among students from other high schools in the county- and our girls crushed it and won the height AND sturdiness categories. Way to go ladies!

TAD students are studying veterinarian science. The unit includes learning to suture wounds, understand pharmaceuticals, and design habitats based on an animal's health needs.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a conversation, and you might leave knowing something about yourself you didn’t walk in with.
Come ready to think, laugh, and maybe learn a little something.
Why “normal” is the most dangerous word in your future and what to do instead
The one thing colleges and employers are actually looking for (hint: it’s not your GPA)
Take the tr8ts app and find out how you’re wired, and how to use it to stand out
How to know what makes YOU different and how to say it out loud without sounding weird
Real stories from someone who didn’t have it all figured out and built something anyway
A simple framework for standing out that you can use starting this week
How to show up for other people in a way that makes them remember you forever
Q&A — bring your real questions, nothing is off limits

Our eWarriors Rocket League team is absolutely on fire right now!
The eWarriors have won their 5th straight match and are now ranked #6 out of 116 teams in the Eastern Region and have officially claimed the Maryland state title!
In their latest matchup, the eWarriors took down Shady Spring Middle School from West Virginia, outsourcing the Tigers 27-3 in a 3 to 0 series sweep. It was a total team effort, with all six players scoring goals; but a special shoutout goes to Micah Honsinger, who led the team with an amazing school record 15 goals!
