Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to announce an exciting new course request process for the 2026–2027 school year for all secondary schools.
Beginning March 25, students and parents/guardians will be able to log into Family Portal to view teacher recommendations for the upcoming school year and submit course requests. Course selections are based on established prerequisites and grade-level requirements. Please review the attached instructions and brief video to assist you with this process.
Course Request Window: March 25 through April 8
After April 8, school counselors will meet individually with students to review submitted requests or assist students who did not complete the online process. Families are encouraged to review teacher recommendations carefully and read all information provided on each tab in Family Portal to ensure informed course selections.
If you have questions, please contact your student’s school counselor.
Important Information:
Course selections are requests only. Final course assignments depend on course availability, scheduling constraints, and graduation requirements.
Student schedules will be released during each school’s Open House at the end of August.
Please make selections thoughtfully, as schedule changes for the spring semester are unlikely.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your student’s academic planning and success.

The Carson Scholars Fund recognizes students who exemplify the highest standards of academic excellence and community service. Each year, only a select group of students nationwide receive this prestigious honor, making Bella’s achievement and Andrew’s continued distinction truly remarkable. Carson Scholars are celebrated not only for outstanding academic performance, but also for their dedication to making a positive impact in their communities.

We are excited to share that the High School Symphonic Band earned the highest possible rating Superior from all four judges at yesterday’s District Band Festival! The judges repeatedly complimented the maturity of their musicianship, and I would add that they represented our school with the same level of professionalism throughout the day.

On Wednesday, March 11th, we will be administering the SAT to all 11th graders and any 10th grade students who signed up and paid to take the SAT. All other MMHS students remain home that day and will complete asynchronous work at home through their Google Classrooms. This asynchronous work will be utilized for attendance purposes for any student not taking the SAT. Students taking the SAT test that day will be exempt from asynchronous assignments. If your student has difficulty accessing the internet, please have them request a paper copy of the assignment from their teacher. The school day will begin at the regular time of 7:45 for test takers and bus transportation will run on its normal schedule in the morning for these students. Please make sure all testers bring your school issued laptop, fully charged, and charger. If you have a personal graphing calculator, bring that as well, otherwise an electronic calculator will be available in the testing platform. Students may also bring a snack and drink to have during the break. All test takers will be released after receiving lunch and bus transportation will be available at approximately 11:45. Students with rides can leave at the end of the test which will be approximately 11:00 am. For any questions, please reach out to April Shiles, our school testing coordinator, at ashiles@mywcps.org

Big shoutout to our middle school Rocket League team, who absolutely boosted past the #18 ranked E.F. Rittmueller Middle School from Michigan yesterday with a 17–5 victory!
Leading the team was Micah Honsinger with 7 goals, but all five players found the back of the net in a true team victory. Great job, eWarriors!
